  • Social Work in Districts and County Actively Promoted in Shanghai 2010-09-01

    On 19 August, 2010, the ¡°Work Experience Exchange Meeting of Districts and County in Shanghai¡± was called by Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau. The meeting aimed at implementing the messages conveyed in the Civil Affairs Bureau Director-generals¡¯ Conference and thereby pushing the social work in districts and county a step forward. Leading officials from district and county civil affairs bureaus responsible for social work and people-in-charge from the related divisions attended the meeting.

    The meeting reviewed the development status of the social work in Shanghai and the team construction of social work specialists in the first half of the year 2010, and assigned tasks for the second half of the year. Focus was laid on the detailed targets and tasks, specific measures and procedures of implementation in the field of social work specified in the ¡°Plan for Implementation of the Agreement between Ministry of Civil Affairs and Shanghai Municipal Government on Building a National Modern Civil Affairs Model Area¡±. Besides, the basic situation about the public bidding of charity programs and venture philanthropy in this year was briefed on, and specific targets were specified for the development of social work talents as proposed in the ¡°twelfth five-year plan¡± for civil affairs.

    At the meeting, officials from civil affairs bureaus of different districts and county including Jing¡¯an, Pudong New Area and Yangpu, etc, summarized the overall situation of the development of social work and the team-building of social work talents. Exchanges were also conducted on the key issues in social work, such as exploration of social work in various fields, developing of professional training institutions and government-purchase of social services, etc.
