In active response to the call from the Municipal Party Committee and the Working Committee of Municipal Government Authorities, the “One-day Donation in Aid of Mudslide-stricken Zhouqu County” was held on 23 August, 2010 in Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau to support Zhouqu County of China’s northwestern Gansu Province in the fight against the massive landslides and the reconstruction of its homeland. Leading officials from the Bureau and Party members participated in the donation.

It is the common wish of the officials and Party members of the Bureau to help the mudslide-hit area to recover from the disaster, which, as they said, has also given the expression to the Bureau’s function of showing concerns for people’s livelihood and serving the masses with loving care. Some officials on errands out of town also called back upon hearing the news, asking to have their donations made.

The total amount collected from this activity has aggregated to 50,800 RMB.
