At the invitation of Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau (SCAB), Mr. Egusa Yasuhiko, Honorary Director General of Social Welfare Corporation ASAHIGAWASOU and Honorary Citizen of Shanghai, and Ms. Itano Misako, Executive Member of the Council of Social Welfare Corporation ASAHIGAWASOU came to visit Shanghai from 7th to 9th of July for discussions over the prospective cooperation and exchange with SCAB. DG Ma Yili, Deputy DG Fang Guoping, Vice DG Yao Kai and Vice DG Wang Wenshou cordially met with the delegation.

On 8th of July, Mr. Egusa Yasuhiko and Ms. Itano Misako went to the newly-opened Shanghai Incubator of Social Innovation and enjoyed the presentation by NPI about the public welfare projects such as the “Conversation in the Dark”, “Xiaolongbao (soup dumpling)”, “Barrier-free Road to Art” and “Chuozhen Restaurant”. The visit made it possible for Mr. Egusa Yasuhiko to have an in-depth knowledge about the establishment and operation of training organizations and the employment for the disabled in Shanghai. He then went into further discussions with SCAB leaders.

ASAHIGAWASOU, a renowned large-scale comprehensive social welfare organization in Japan, has accumulated rich experience in training and employment for the disabled. The cooperation with ASAHIGAWASOU will see the introduction of Japan’s advanced concepts and effective practices into Shanghai, which is believed to play an important role in promoting the welfare programs for the disabled in Shanghai.
